Two Meters, One Rule: Past It, the Line Is Yours

Whether the meter at the road belongs to the City of Cooper or to Delta County MUD, the ownership rule is the same on both systems: the provider maintains up to the meter, and everything running from it to the house is the customer’s line. Out here those runs are long, mostly PVC or poly laid decades ago, and they cross whatever the property put in their way since: a gravel drive that carries trucks and trailers, a fence line, a stretch of pasture. A break anywhere along that distance bills you continuously, and the meter is the only witness.
