Kitchens got redone, bathrooms got moved, whole systems got repiped, and through all of it the original service line kept working underground, unexamined since the day it was buried. A water line repair on these lots is planned the same way an interior repair here is planned around plaster: the failure located exactly, the route chosen around what cannot be replaced, and the opening placed where the grounds can spare it.
